PIK Agency Has a New Owner. Nedyalko Nedyalkov Has Sold It to Selevkidi Media Group

PIK Agency has a new owner as of today. Publisher Nedyalko Nedyalkov has sold it to Selevkidi Media Group, managed by Svetoslav Kantardzhiev. The group maintains over 20 websites both domestically and abroad and has Greek participation.

"I had several good offers for the ownership of PIK, one of the most-read sites in our country. The main reason I chose Svetoslav Kantardzhiev as the successor of the project I created is his long-standing experience in the media.

Moreover, we've been working side by side for over 15 years. Our views on how journalism should be practiced largely coincide. Ideologically, we are also more or less like-minded.

For me, PIK has never been a financial project. The media is a cause and a platform for free journalism. That's why I have never agreed to and have categorically refused to sell the site to a financial investor who would use it for personal purposes, including political ones. I have also been against selling it to a media group that does not share my values and those of the team that has made PIK so successful and beloved by readers.

On the other hand, Svetlio Kantardzhiev has proven that he can develop independent projects and does not have the habit of interfering in the editorial policies of the media he integrates into his group. An example of this is the website “Svobodno Slovo,” which he acquired a few years ago. From its founding to this day, this media continues to express conservative and patriotic ideas – just as its original creators intended. This is why my texts often become part of its content.

Finally, but not least, he committed that PIK will continue to belong not to its owner, but to the journalistic and creative team. He not only agreed but also guaranteed that he would provide even greater freedom for colleagues to work in a way that ensures the media remains a leader and a benchmark for free journalism," announced Nedyalko Nedyalkov.
