Alain Delon Has Got Law Issues

French prosecutors announced on Tuesday that 72 firearms were confiscated from the residence of renowned French actor Alain Delon, who lacks permits for any of them.

Additionally, law enforcement discovered over 3,000 rounds of ammunition and a shooting range at Delon's rural home in Douchy-Montcorbon, located 84 miles (135km) south of Paris.

According to local prosecutor Jean-Cédric Gaux, Delon, 88, lacks the necessary authorization to possess firearms.

The actor, known for portraying gun-wielding characters in iconic films like Borsalino, is credited with popularizing the enigmatic, cerebral hitman archetype in the 1967 movie The Samurai.

Delon's health has been in decline since suffering a stroke in 2019, and he has recently been embroiled in a family dispute.

Authorities conducted the search after a court-appointed official observed a weapon at Delon's residence and alerted a judge.

While Delon has made few screen appearances since the 1990s, he received an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes film festival in 2019 and attended the funeral of his friend and fellow star Jean-Paul Belmondo in September 2021.

In a recent development, Delon's youngest son filed a complaint against his sister, accusing her of taking advantage of their father's fragility.

The family feud became public when Delon's eldest son, Anthony Delon, disclosed in Paris Match magazine that his father was in a "weakened" condition. Delon, via his lawyer, expressed shock and intended to file a defamation complaint.

Concerns about Delon arose last year when his three children filed a complaint against his former live-in assistant, Hiromi Rollin, alleging harassment and threatening behavior.

Delon, who is estimated to be worth millions, auctioned about 80 pieces of art for over €8m (£6.8m) in June.
